Who wants Fiber?? I DO!!!!

Where I currently live, I am unfortunate not to be able to take advantage of the new fiber technology. In my opinion this is the new way of getting a higher quality in home entertainment, whether it be through television, internet, or phone service the technology for quality is here. You don't have to worry about it raining and your satellite feed going down or worry about downloading on computer, as fiber technology surpasses all in front of it. Fiber optics will be the fastest way to get something downloaded over the internet.
Currently in my area I have seen and heard that they were laying down a foundation for Verizon FIOS in the future. I personally cannot wait for it! I am tired of my current cable provider, and have heard nothing but good things about FIOS.
Here are some things that people have had to say about FIOS and its dependability.

Steve Lacy, a software developer for Google recounts his experience with FiOS.

DEF EFX does very comprehensive rundown of Verizon FiOS TV.

One of my peers just had FIOS installed and has never had a bad thing to say about it. His wife who stays home with the kids enjoys it because of the great on-demand availability. Makes it easier to allow the kids to watch something now and her to watch her shows at a later time.

Currently one of the great things that Verizon FIOS customers are able to enjoy is a collection of High-Def How-To Videos From Howcast. Here is an excerpt of an article from Prnewswire where the CEO of Howcast talks about HOw to and FIOS.

Jason Liebman, CEO and co-founder of Howcast.com, said, "FiOS TV has provided Howcast an amazing platform to bring our how-to videos in HD quality directly to consumers' televisions. We are excited to partner with Verizon and provide FiOS TV customers with a Labor Day survival guide that provides how-to solutions tailored for their holiday entertaining needs."

Not only does it help things be faster at home but in the business world many companies are making the switch. It makes it faster for everyone in small or big business to make things easier and more profitable. Faster things get doen the faster you can make money.

So why FIOS, Verizon gives the best explanation here"

Instead of relying on satellite signals or copper wires to deliver communication and entertainment services, fiber-optic systems are utilized. These systems are capable of delivering more reliable service for a wide variety of uses, including telecommuting, video on demand, home shopping and interactive content. In addition, fiber-optic technology is less susceptible to interference from changing weather conditions.

Now for me the most important thing is downloading music, movies or a video game. Especially in todays time where the internet and computers are our best form of ommmunication and learning. With cable the best you can get is 15 Mbps. With Verizon FIOS you get a whopping 50 Mbps. Now just so their is no confusion. With cable it takes 53minutes to download a 2 hour movie. With Verizon FIOS you could have downloaded 3 and a half movies in the same amount of time. So basically Verizon FIOS is 3.5 times faster than cable in downloading. In todays age faster is always better.

* Cable comparison speeds are based on averages of cable speeds available nationwide as of July, 2009. Actual throughput speeds will vary.

Also thanks to the people at Verizon FIOS they are giving away a few prizes including a HP Mini 10.1-Inch Netbook, a Sony Bravia 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV, and a Panasonic Titanium Digital Cordless Answering System. Please make sure you check it out by going to this website.
